چکیده
We introduce the concept of nuclear battery, a standardized, factory-fabricated, road transportable, plug-and-play micro-reactor. Nuclear batteries have potential to provide on-demand, carbon-free, economic, resilient, and safe energy for distributed heat electricity applications in every sector economy. The cost targets these markets are 20–50 USD/MWht (6–15 USD/MMBTU) 70–115 USD/MWhe electricity, respectively. present parametric study battery’s levelized suggesting that those within reach. from is expected depend strongly on core power rating, fuel enrichment, burnup, size onsite staff, fabrication costs financing. Notional examples cheap expensive battery designs provided.
